This is my 4th KB-12 so I do like the model. That said I’ve noticed that the slide movement is a bit rough. Even on a brand new one. I always clean the slide before playing it to minimize that issue.
On the one you just sent me the E in hole #2 is buzzing very slightly. Everything else is ok.
The good points:
Lovely sound, responsive and surprisingly good volume.
One question: Are the reeds made of the same material as those in the Lyra?
I am very satisfied with the Boegieman, I now have 3, a C, G, A
I consider the review made by BrendanPowerMusic at the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVxfp9vz1bk very important regarding this harmonica, starting from the time 05:49, and I add some of my personal considerations. I really like the sound of the reeds of this harmonica: I find it very lively, precise and delicate, furthermore at low frequencies it evokes a cello in my mind while at high frequencies it reminds me of the song of a little bird. You need to pay more attention to the way you blow when playing in the higher frequency section of this harmonica. At first I suspected the presence of a defect but it was me who wasn't blowing correctly. I would very much like to purchase other harmonicas of this model and brand.
Great Harp and fantastic tone
The harmonica felt nice in the beginning but after one hour of playing the middle C reed broke. I've never had this issue before. I'wondering if there is a guarantee policy or where we can obtain spare reeds or reed plates. And how can a reed be replaced by a new one.
The overall feeling of the instrument is nice. The slide was not that smooth but maybe some oil will help.
