Great harmonica, reeds are responsive and well tuned. I’ll be getting more of these!
In ordered this harmonica by mistake - I meant to get a tremolo. When I played it I was surprised by the delightfully low pitch, descending into the bass harmonica range. Normally an octave harmonica in F would combine a regular F (lowest pitch above middle C) with a Low F one octave lower. But this model combines Low F with Low LOW F!
Very cool!.
That said, the low reeds could be gapped a little wider to aid in their response, an easy fix for me. I would prefer smooth coverplates instead of the frosted surface on these covers, which add some friction to the movement of the harmonica in the mouth.
I may make a video with a tune that would sound good with this harmonica to show off its unique pitch range.
Maybe next time I'll get that tremolo. Over the last few years, I've been very impressed with the quality of Kongsheng harmonicas.
